Cute Alert! Jessica Simpson's Sweetest Family Photos
Growing Family!
It's official! Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson -- parents to 7-month-old Maxwell Drew -- are awaiting their second bundle of joy. After weeks of speculation, Simpson confirmed the news on Christmas Day with an adorable Twitpic
of her baby girl sitting in sand next to the words "Big Sis." The
fashionista wrote, "Merry Christmas from my family to yours." On Nov.
28, a source told Us Weekly, "It definitely wasn't planned -- she really is overjoyed!"
Grateful Girl
Jessica certainly has a lot to be thankful for this year. "I am so grateful for my new lil family!" she tweeted
on Nov. 22, sharing a photo of her fiance and their daughter. "Happy
Thanksgiving everyone!" But we didn't need that tweet to tell us how
elated she is -- Jess' best friend already spread the word. "She’s just
in the happiest place I’ve ever seen her in," CaCee Cobb
told iVillage recently. "Even on her worst day, she’s still so happy.
If things get hard or rough, she’s just like ‘I’ve got Maxwell and I’ve
got Eric. It’s never gonna be that bad.'"
Playing Dress-Up
We'll get to Jessica's cute costume in a sec -- first let's talk about
her amazing body! The new mom revealed her dramatic weight loss, sharing
a family photo via her website on Halloween. Jess looks amazing in cinched-waist corset, while her fiance rocks a Braveheart costume and baby Maxwell is dressed as a fluffy chicken!
New Territory
Jessica may look calm and collected, but she still has her moments of
doubt. "I think all moms just wanna make sure that they’re doing
everything right, the new mom, who tweeted this adorable shot on Sept. 19,
tells iVillage. "You can try and get all the information you can, but
you really don’t know [what it's like] until you have them in your arms
and you take them home."
Splish-Splash
The new mom captured this sweet pic of Eric splashing with their daughter in the pool. "The two loves of my lives," she posted on Oct. 7. Aww!
Doting Dad
Former NFL player Eric Johnson may have been a tough guy on the field,
but when it comes to fatherhood he's a big softie. "The way he loves
her, and the way he kisses her on head -- you can just tell that he
wants to protect her," Jessica tells iVillage. "It's made our love
deeper, and I know that Maxwell’s gonna be a daddy’s little girl just
from watching the two of them interact."
Beautiful Bond
There's always a learning curve for first-time moms. But Jess' friend, Rachel Ashwell (who
designed Maxwell's nursery), insists that it was a pretty easy
transition. "You can just tell that for her, the mothering piece is
natural," the Shabby Chic founder tells iVillage. "It’s how she’s wired."
Setting the Bar
Jess captured her man spending time with his little girl on his 33rd birthday and tweeted the pic
on Sept. 19. Her BFF CaCee Cobb says Eric is such an attentive (and
handsome!) father that he makes other women jealous! "He’s amazing as a
dad and he’s totally raised the bar amongst all of our friends," CaCee
tells iVillage. "I tell my fiance [Scrubs star Donald Faison], I’m like, 'You’re gonna be like that with our kid, right? Cause I’d be devastated if you weren't!'"
All Together
Jessica is known for her feminine style, but that doesn't mean the fashionista (who tweeted this family photo
on the Fourth of July) won't let her sporty fiance have some influence
on their daughter. "Before the baby was born Jessica was like, 'You
know, she’s not gonna be athletic. She’s gonna be wearing heels. She’s
gonna be a girlie girl,'" says BFF CaCee Cobb, who's Maxwell's
godmother. "But now that she’s here, Jessica would love to see her in
sneakers, I’m sure. Just not all the time."
Mama's Girl
When it comes to her little girl, Jessica always wants her to be
comfortable with who she is. "I live in a world that puts a lot of
expectations on me," says the singer (pictured in N.Y.C. with Eric and
Maxwell on Sept. 9). "I never want my baby girl to grow up feeling that.
To grow up feeling like she has to be something that’s expected."
Dream Big
Maxwell can rest easy knowing that her mom will always have her back.
"I’m gonna let Maxwell do what she wants to do," says Jessica. "I’ll definitely encourage education and
school. But I want to help her start following her dreams because we
start having them so young. I think it's important to encourage that
from a young age that. Whatever you’re passionate about -- to go for
it!"
Sleeping Beauty
If Jessica looks well-rested as she walks through New York's JFK
International Airport on Sept. 11, it's because she's been getting her
beauty sleep! "Maxwell has been sleeping through the night since she was
a month and a half," she tells iVillage. "Everybody’s like, 'You are so
lucky, you have no idea!' Maybe up until two months I would feed her in
the middle of the night...But by two and a half months she was
(sleeping) eight o’clock at night 'til seven in the morning."
